The Fracture Case is one of those cases that never really goes away, bro. It's cheap, it's still in the drop pool according to trackers, and it holds two of the most popular rifle and pistol skins in the game: the Desert Eagle Printstream and the AK-47 Legion of Anubis. If you landed here searching for the Fracture Case on Clash.gg, you probably want to know what's inside, what the odds are, what it costs and where it makes sense to open or buy from it. That's what this page covers.

Quick honesty note: we haven't opened Fracture Cases for this guide. Contents, odds and prices come from SteamAnalyst's case page, Clash.gg's own Stash database and third-party drop-pool trackers, checked October 27, 2026. Case prices change daily, so treat every number below as a snapshot.

The short version

  • Released: August 6, 2020, in Valve's "On the Case" update.
  • Contents: 17 skins (2 Covert, 3 Classified, 5 Restricted, 7 Mil-Spec) plus 52 knife versions.
  • Knives: the Shattered Web set: Nomad, Skeleton, Paracord and Survival.
  • Knife odds: 0.26%, about one in every 385 openings.

Fracture Case vs Clash.gg: what's actually what

This trips up a lot of people, so let's get it straight first.

Valve's Fracture Case is an in-game container. You get it as a weekly drop or buy it on a market, then you open it inside CS2 with a key bought from Valve. The odds are Valve's standard case odds, and what you unbox lands straight in your Steam inventory.

Clash.gg cases are the site's own. Clash.gg picks what goes into each case, sets the odds for every item and shows them on the case page. Some site cases are themed around a skin or a collection. If you see a case with Fracture skins in it on Clash.gg, read its odds table, because the chances won't match Valve's.

Clash.gg's Stash (stash.clash.gg) is a free skin database run by Clash.gg. Its Fracture Case page lists the contents and shows prices side by side. When we checked, it showed a Clash.gg price for the case a few cents under the Steam price, around $0.27. That figure comes from Clash.gg's own market, so it moves with supply.

Clash.gg's marketplace lets you buy skins with your site balance and withdraw them to Steam. If you want a specific Fracture skin, this is the route that skips the gamble. Our Clash.gg marketplace guide covers how buying and withdrawals work.

So, if you want the Valve unboxing experience, open the case in CS2. If you want case-style action with a free start, use Clash.gg's own cases. If you just want the Printstream, buy it.

Every skin in the Fracture Case

Here's the full list, grouped by rarity. These are the skins from The Fracture Collection.

Covert (red), 0.64% combined

  • Desert Eagle | Printstream: the clean black-and-white pearlescent Deagle. It's one of the most recognisable pistol skins in CS2.
  • AK-47 | Legion of Anubis: Egyptian-themed artwork in gold, blue and black.

Each Covert has an equal share of the red slot, so each one drops about 0.32% of the time. In late October 2026, SteamAnalyst showed Legion of Anubis selling between roughly $31 and $46 across wears, and the Printstream between roughly $32 and $64.

Classified (pink), 3.20% combined

  • M4A4 | Tooth Fairy
  • Glock-18 | Vogue
  • XM1014 | Entombed

Restricted (purple), 15.98% combined

  • MAG-7 | Monster Call
  • MAC-10 | Allure
  • MP5-SD | Kitbash
  • Galil AR | Connexion
  • Tec-9 | Brother

Mil-Spec (blue), 79.92% combined

  • SSG 08 | Mainframe 001
  • P250 | Cassette
  • P2000 | Gnarled
  • P90 | Freight
  • SG 553 | Ol' Rusty
  • Negev | Ultralight
  • PP-Bizon | Runic

Most openings land here. Most blue skins from this case sell for under a dollar, which is why the average opening returns so much less than it costs.

The Fracture Case knives

The rare special slot holds the four knives first released with Operation Shattered Web in late 2019. Fracture reused them, so the same knives also come from the Shattered Web Case.

  • Nomad Knife: a big folding blade with a curved handle.
  • Skeleton Knife: a skeletonised folding knife with an open-frame handle. It's the fan favourite of the four.
  • Paracord Knife: a fixed blade with a cord-wrapped handle.
  • Survival Knife: a chunky fixed blade with a saw-tooth spine.

Each knife comes as a vanilla version plus 12 finishes: Blue Steel, Boreal Forest, Case Hardened, Crimson Web, Fade, Forest DDPAT, Night Stripe, Safari Mesh, Scorched, Slaughter, Stained and Urban Masked. That's 13 versions per knife, or 52 total.

SteamAnalyst showed the full range at roughly $39 to about $1,450 in late October 2026. The bottom end is camo finishes like Safari Mesh and Forest DDPAT on the cheaper models. The top end is a clean Fade or Crimson Web, usually on the Skeleton. Valve doesn't publish separate odds for each finish, so treat every knife hit as a lottery within a lottery.

Thinking about which of these is worth chasing? Our CS2 knife tier list ranks the models, and our guide on how to get a knife in CS2 compares every route.

Fracture Case odds

The Fracture Case uses Valve's standard rarity split. Here's what it means in plain numbers:

  • Mil-Spec: 79.92%. About four out of five openings.
  • Restricted: 15.98%. About one in six.
  • Classified: 3.20%. About one in 31.
  • Covert: 0.64%. About one in 156.
  • Knife: 0.26%. About one in 385.

Two things to remember. First, these are averages over huge numbers of openings, not a promise. You can open 1,000 cases and never see gold, or hit one on your third. Previous results don't change the next one. Second, StatTrak versions of the weapon skins drop about 10% of the time within each tier. Knives can also roll StatTrak.

If you want to see how often these odds pay off, our CS2 case odds guide explains the system across all cases, and our case odds and EV calculator lets you plug in your own prices.

What it costs to open one

Opening a Valve case always costs two things: the case and the key. Per SteamAnalyst on October 27, 2026:

  • Case: about $0.36 averaged across markets, with the cheapest listings near $0.32. Steam's own market showed a higher price because of its fees.
  • Key: $2.49 from Valve. You can't buy keys cheaper on third-party sites anymore, and keys you buy aren't tradable.
  • Total: about $2.85 per opening.

At those prices, SteamAnalyst estimated the average opening returns around $0.86 in items. That's a loss of about 70% on average. Valve cases are a bad deal by design, because the key is the expensive part and most of what you open is a blue skin worth a few cents.

Case prices also drift. SteamAnalyst showed the Fracture Case down about 20% over 30 days in October 2026, with a 2025 high near $0.96 and a low near $0.29. If you only want the case to hold, that's speculation, not a plan. Our CS2 key price guide explains why the key cost never really drops.

Is the Fracture Case still dropping?

Third-party trackers list the Fracture Case in the active weekly drop pool as of October 2026. That's part of why it stays cheap: new cases keep entering the market every week from people's weekly care packages. Valve can rotate cases in or out of the pool without announcing it. If you're counting on it dropping, check a current drop-pool list.

Smarter ways to get Fracture skins

Unboxing is the slowest and most expensive way to get a specific skin. Here are better routes, from most to least reliable.

1. Buy the skin outright

If you want a Printstream or a Legion of Anubis, buying one costs far less than the expected spend of unboxing for one. Compare a couple of markets for the wear and float you want. On Clash.gg, you can buy with your site balance and withdraw to Steam.

2. Use a trade-up contract

Since Valve's October 22, 2025 update, five Covert skins can be traded up for a knife or gloves from the collection of one of the inputs. Five Fracture Coverts can return a Fracture knife: a Nomad, Skeleton, Paracord or Survival. It's still a gamble on which knife and finish you get, but it's a known path. Our CS2 trade-up contracts guide explains the rules, and the trade-up calculator helps you check the numbers first. Clash.gg also has its own on-site trade-up, covered in our Clash.gg trade-up guide.

3. Clash.gg site cases and the upgrader

Clash.gg's cases and upgrader let you aim at specific items with odds shown up front. They still have a house edge. On average, you get back less than you put in. The upside is that through our link you start with free cases, so you can see how it works before spending a cent. For knife-hunting specifically, read our Clash.gg knives guide before you chase a Skeleton Fade on the upgrader.

4. Open the Valve case for fun

If you just like the spin, open a few with a fixed budget and treat it as entertainment money. Don't open "until you hit".

Fracture Case vs other cheap cases

The Fracture Case's pull is the Covert pair. The Printstream and the Legion of Anubis are both skins people actually use, not just collect. The knife pool is the weak spot. The Shattered Web knives are cheaper on average than Butterflies, Karambits or the M9, so a gold hit here is often worth less than a gold hit from a case with premium knives. If you're chasing a Butterfly, our guide to what CS2 cases have Butterfly Knives lists the five cases that drop one.

Common mistakes

  • Thinking a Clash.gg case is the Valve case. Contents and odds are different. Read the odds table.
  • Counting only the case price. The key is where the money goes. A $0.36 case is really a $2.85 spin.
  • Chasing the knife. At one in 385, you could spend over $1,000 on average before gold shows up, and the knife you hit may be worth a fraction of that.
  • Holding cases as an investment. Active-drop cases keep getting supplied. Prices can sink for months.

Stay in control

Case opening is gambling with real money, even when it looks like a game. Set a budget before you start, never chase losses, and never spend money you need. If it stops being fun, take a break. Our responsible gambling page lists free, confidential help.
