Editorial Guidelines
Here's how we create content at MyCS2Guru.
Research
We research every topic using gameplay, testing and official sources.
Testing
We test settings, lineups and commands in game before publishing.
Writing
We write in plain language, like we're talking to a friend. We avoid fluff.
Accuracy and updates
We update guides after major patches.
Affiliate content
We earn commissions from Clash.gg and CSGOEmpire. We only recommend sites we trust and always include risks.
Corrections
If you spot an error, let us know via our contact page.
Our mission
MyCS2Guru exists to help CS2 players get better at the game and make informed decisions about the money side of CS2. Our guidelines make sure our content is accurate, useful, original and honest.
Accuracy
- Tested in game: console commands, settings and lineups are tested in the current version of CS2 before publishing.
- Sources for pro settings: pro settings change often. We note that values may change and encourage readers to check recent sources.
- No made-up stats: we don't invent numbers. When we give estimates, we say they're estimates.
- Updates after patches: we review affected pages after major game updates.
Originality
- We research topics broadly, including what other CS2 sites cover, so we don't miss important information.
- We never copy other sites' text. Every page is written by us in our own voice.
- Each page should be unique and add something new rather than repeating other pages on our site.
Independence
- Our partners are Clash.gg and CSGOEmpire. They don't review or approve our content before it's published.
- Commission doesn't change our opinions. We include pros and cons in every review.
- We don't promote sites we haven't checked out.
Responsible gambling content
- Every page that mentions gambling, case opening or betting includes clear warnings about risk.
- We never present gambling as a reliable way to make money.
- We clearly state that our money content is for adults 18+ (or the legal age in your area).
- We link to our responsible gambling page and support resources.
Tone and voice
We write like a friend explaining things over voice chat: direct, casual and honest. We avoid hype and false promises. If something is hard, we say it's hard. If something's a bad idea, we say that too.
Structure and readability
- Clear headings so you can skim.
- Tables for settings and comparisons.
- Step-by-step instructions for anything practical.
- FAQs for common questions.
- Internal links to related guides so you can go deeper.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it. Report errors through our contact page. Significant corrections are made promptly.
Updates
We review pages regularly and after major updates. Old information gets updated or removed.
Advertising and affiliate links
Affiliate links are clearly marked and use rel="sponsored nofollow". Full details in our affiliate disclosure.
Feedback
We welcome feedback. If a guide helped you climb, or if something didn't work, let us know. It helps us improve.
How we research a guide
- Pick a topic based on what players ask about most.
- Check what's out there so we know which questions need answering.
- Test in game. Commands, settings and lineups get tried in private matches.
- Write in our voice, with practical steps, tables and FAQs.
- Review for accuracy, clarity and originality.
- Link related guides so readers can go deeper.
- Revisit after major updates.
How we review money sites
When we review a site like Clash.gg or CSGOEmpire, we look at:
| Factor | What we check |
|---|---|
| Reputation | How long it's been around, what players say |
| Security | Account protection options like 2FA |
| Fairness | Provably fair systems where offered |
| Deposits and withdrawals | Methods, speed, limits |
| Bonuses | What they actually give you, and the conditions |
| Responsible gambling tools | Limits, self-exclusion |
| Downsides | House edge, risks, anything we don't like |
We always include downsides. A review with no cons isn't a review.
What we won't do
- Promise you'll win or make money.
- Hide the house edge.
- Promote sites we haven't checked out.
- Target content at minors.
- Publish copied or spun content.
- Change a review because a partner asked us to.
Updates log
Major updates to guides are noted on the page when they change recommendations significantly.
Contact the editorial team
Questions about how we create content, or concerns about a specific page? Reach us through the contact page. We read every message and take editorial feedback seriously, especially anything related to accuracy or responsible gambling.
Who reviews our content
Every guide is checked by at least one other member of the team before publishing. The reviewer looks for factual errors, out-of-date commands, unclear steps and anything that reads like hype. Money-related pages get an extra check to make sure risk warnings are present and accurate.
Use of AI and tools
We use tools like spell checkers and in-game commands to test our work. Every page is reviewed by a person who plays CS2, and every recommendation is checked against the current game. We don't publish content we haven't reviewed.
Handling sensitive topics
Gambling can cause real harm. We avoid language that glamorizes big wins, we never suggest gambling to recover losses, and we always make it clear that the house has an edge. If you think a page falls short of this, tell us.
Pro player content
Our pro settings pages focus on what regular players can learn from top players. Settings are based on publicly shared configurations and can change at any time. We don't speculate about players' private lives or make claims we can't support.
Our commitment to readers
You trust us when you follow a setting, try a lineup or decide whether to visit a site we've reviewed. We take that seriously. That's why we test, why we disclose, why we warn about risk, and why we keep things honest even when it means saying something isn't worth your money.
Transparency about mistakes
We're a small team and we'll get things wrong sometimes. When we do, we fix the page quickly and, for meaningful changes, note what changed. We'd rather admit an error than leave bad advice online. If you send a correction and we agree, we'll thank you and update the page. If we disagree, we'll explain why. Either way, your feedback makes the site better for everyone who reads it.
Keeping content fresh
CS2 changes constantly: new maps enter the pool, weapons get rebalanced and commands get renamed. We keep a list of pages affected by each update and work through it after every major patch. Pages that can't be kept accurate are rewritten or removed rather than left to mislead readers.
