About MyCS2Guru
MyCS2Guru is run by Counter-Strike players for Counter-Strike players. We've been playing since the old days, through CS:GO and now CS2, and we built this site because most CS advice online is either too vague, too long or written by people who don't play.
What we do
We cover two things:
- Getting better at CS2: guides, settings, lessons, tips and pro setups.
- The skin side of CS2: trading, investing, case opening and the sites we trust.
How we write
We write like we'd explain something to a friend on Discord: direct, honest and practical. Every guide includes steps you can actually follow, and drills you can run in a private match.
How we test
- Settings: we test settings on different PCs and maps.
- Lineups: we throw them in private matches before publishing.
- Sites: we sign up, deposit, play and withdraw before recommending.
How we make money
MyCS2Guru is free. We earn commissions when you sign up or deposit through our links to Clash.gg or CSGOEmpire, or use code FREECASES4U. That doesn't change our opinions. Read our affiliate disclosure.
Why only two sites?
We only recommend sites we trust: Clash.gg and CSGOEmpire. We'd rather recommend two good sites than twenty mediocre ones.
Responsible gaming
Skin gambling is for adults only. We include responsible gambling info throughout the site. Read our responsible gambling page.
Our editorial standards
Read our editorial guidelines for how we research, write and update content.

Why we built MyCS2Guru
Most CS2 sites fall into two camps. Some are pure strategy sites that pretend skins, cases and gambling sites don't exist. Others are thin pages stuffed with every casino link on the internet. We wanted something in between: a site that helps you actually get better at the game, and gives you straight, honest info about the money side of CS2 for those who want it.
We're players first. We've spent years grinding matchmaking, learning lineups, tuning settings and messing around with skins. Everything on this site comes from that experience, plus a lot of testing in private matches.

Our approach to content
Practical first
Every guide aims to give you something you can do in your next session: a drill, a setting, a lineup, a habit. If a page doesn't help you play better or make a smarter decision, it doesn't belong here.
Tested in the game
Commands, settings and lineups are checked in the current version of CS2. Valve updates the game often, so we revisit pages after big patches.
Written like a friend talks
We write like we'd explain things to a mate on voice chat. No fluff, no corporate speak, no pretending to know things we don't.
Original
We study what other CS2 sites cover so we don't miss important topics, but we write everything ourselves.
How we make money
MyCS2Guru is free to read. We earn a commission when you sign up or deposit on some partner sites through our links. Right now our only partners are Clash.gg and CSGOEmpire. We don't accept payment to change our opinions, and we don't promote sites we haven't checked out. Full details are in our affiliate disclosure.
Our stance on gambling
We think case opening and skin gambling should be treated as entertainment with a cost, not a way to make money. The house always has an edge. We'll always tell you that clearly, and we'll always point you to our responsible gambling page. If you're under 18, or gambling isn't legal where you live, the money pages aren't for you. Stick to the guides.

What's next for the site
We're adding more lessons for every active-duty map, more pro player pages, more tips and deeper guides on economy and team play. Bookmark the guides hub and check back regularly.
The team behind the site
MyCS2Guru is run by a small group of long-time Counter-Strike players. Between us we've played since the early days of CS:GO, moved through every rank from Silver to the higher Premier ratings, played in community leagues and spent far too many hours in private servers learning lineups. Some of us lean towards the strategy and team-play side; others are deep into skins, trade-ups and market prices. That mix is why the site covers both.
We don't claim to be professional players. What we do claim is that every tip on the site has been tested, every setting explained in plain language, and every opinion about money sites given honestly.
What makes us different
| Many CS2 sites | MyCS2Guru |
|---|---|
| Copy-paste settings lists | Explain why each setting matters |
| Promote every gambling site | Only two partners we've checked out |
| Hide the risks | Talk about house edge and losses openly |
| Generic, formal tone | Straight talk, like a teammate |
| Rarely updated | Reviewed after major patches |
Our principles
- Help first. Every page should leave you better at CS2 or better informed.
- Be honest about money. Skins and cases cost money. Gambling isn't income.
- Respect your time. Clear headings, tables and steps so you get what you need fast.
- Stay original. Our own words, our own testing.
- Keep it safe. 18+ for money content, responsible gambling reminders everywhere it matters.
How to get the most out of the site
- New player? Start with crosshair settings, mouse settings and aim training.
- Stuck at a rank? Read the economy guide, communication guide and pick a few lessons.
- Want lineups? Head to smokes, flashbangs and molotovs.
- Curious about skins? Start at the make money hub and read the risks before anything else.
Thanks for being here
Whether you're here to climb, to learn a smoke or to figure out if a case is worth opening, thanks for reading. Go get those frags, bro.
Frequently asked questions about MyCS2Guru
Are you affiliated with Valve?
No. MyCS2Guru is an independent fan site. Counter-Strike 2 is a trademark of Valve Corporation.
Are you sponsored by pro teams or players?
No. Our pro settings pages are based on publicly shared information and our own analysis of their play.
Why do you cover gambling sites at all?
Because a lot of CS2 players use them, and they deserve honest information rather than hype. We'd rather explain the risks clearly than pretend these sites don't exist.
Can I write for MyCS2Guru?
We're open to hearing from experienced players. Reach out through the contact page with your rank, your specialty and a sample of your writing.
How do I report a mistake?
Use the contact page and include the page URL. We fix confirmed errors quickly.
Is the site safe to use?
Yes. The site is served over HTTPS, we never ask for your Steam login, and we don't run tracking cookies ourselves.
Our promise
We'll keep the guides free, keep the advice honest, and keep the money talk real. If we ever fall short, call us out.
A note on responsible play
CS2 is a game first. We love the skin side of it too, but we never want anyone spending money they need for rent, food or bills. If the money side of CS2 ever stops being fun, take a break. Our guides will still be here, and getting better at the game costs nothing but time. That's the part of CS2 we think matters most, and it's why most of this site is about aim, utility, settings and strategy rather than gambling.
Where we're headed
Our goal is simple: become the most useful free CS2 resource for regular players. That means more maps, more lessons, more practical drills and clearer answers to the questions players actually ask. Thanks for being part of it from the start.
