Clash.gg Sticker Composer: Spell Anything With CS2 Stickers
Updated · ·

Sticker crafts are one of the most fun parts of CS2 right now. Your name, your clan tag, a meme word, all spelled out across your AK with real stickers. The hard part is figuring out which stickers actually spell what you want. There are thousands of them, and nobody has the whole list memorised.
That's exactly what the Clash.gg Sticker Composer is for. It's a free tool on Clash.gg's Stash site that takes a word and finds sticker combinations that spell it. Then you can send the combo to a preview canvas and play with the layout before you spend a cent on stickers.
This guide covers what the composer is, how to use it step by step, what the Search Backwards and Depth Search options are for, how the Sticker Preview canvas works, and how to turn a result into a craft that actually looks good in game. We checked the tools on October 29, 2026. We haven't seen how the tool works behind the scenes, so we only describe what you see and do on the page.
What is the Clash.gg Sticker Composer?
The Sticker Composer lives at stash.clash.gg/sticker-composer. Stash is Clash.gg's set of free CS2 lookup tools, separate from the main case-opening site. You don't need to deposit or open cases to use it.
The idea is simple. You type text, hit Generate, and the composer looks through CS2's sticker catalogue for stickers whose names or letters can be strung together to spell your text. Instead of scrolling through pages of stickers hunting for a "K" or a "Z", the tool does the searching for you.
It sits alongside the other Stash tools:
- Pattern Data and Search Pattern for looking up skin patterns.
- Price Check for skin prices.
- Volume for market activity.
- All Stickers, a list of stickers with prices and Steam listings.
- Sticker Preview, the canvas where you arrange a craft.
If you want the wider tour of Stash, our Clash.gg Stash guide covers every tool.

Why sticker crafts blew up in CS2
In CS:GO you had four fixed sticker slots per weapon. You could stack stickers on the same spot, but that was about it.
That changed with the CS2 update on February 6, 2024. Valve added free sticker placement, so you can put a sticker anywhere on the weapon, rotate it, and zoom in while placing it. It also raised the limit to five stickers per weapon.
That opened the door to proper crafts. People started lining stickers up to spell words, building little scenes, and using scraped stickers to hide parts of a design. Five stickers isn't a lot of letters, though, which is why picking the right stickers matters so much. A single sticker that covers two or three letters can be the difference between a word that fits and one that doesn't.

How to use the Sticker Composer, step by step
It only takes a minute.
- Open the composer. Go to stash.clash.gg/sticker-composer. Desktop works best, especially if you want to use the preview afterwards.
- Type your text. Your name, your tag, a word you like. Keep it short to start with. Remember you only have five sticker slots on a weapon.
- Pick your options. You'll see Search Backwards and Depth Search. More on those below. Start with the defaults.
- Hit Generate. The composer shows sticker combinations that can spell your text.
- Look through the results. Different combos use different stickers, so the look and the price can vary a lot.
- Click View in Stickers Preview. This opens your chosen combo on the Sticker Preview canvas, where you can arrange it.
If you get no results, or the results need too many stickers, try a shorter version of the word, a different spelling, or turn on one of the options and generate again.
Search Backwards and Depth Search explained
These two toggles change how the composer looks for matches.
Search Backwards. As the name suggests, this changes the direction the search works through your text. In practice, the useful thing to know is that it can bring back different combinations from the same word. If the first set of results doesn't work for you, flip it on and generate again. Some words end up with neater combos one way than the other.
Depth Search. This tells the composer to dig deeper for combinations. It's the option to reach for when a word is long or awkward, or when the normal search comes back with nothing useful. A deeper search can take longer, so give it a moment.
A quick rule of thumb:
| Situation | Try this |
|---|---|
| Short, common word | Default settings first |
| Results use too many stickers | Turn on Depth Search |
| Results look ugly or use pricey stickers | Toggle Search Backwards and compare |
| No results at all | Shorten or respell the word, then Depth Search |
There's no "right" setting. Generate a few versions and pick the one you like.
Using the Sticker Preview canvas
Once you click View in Stickers Preview, you land on stash.clash.gg/sticker-preview. This is where you work out the layout.
The controls on the page:
- Click and drag stickers to move them around.
- Mousewheel rotates the selected sticker.
- Arrow Up and Arrow Down move a sticker up or down a layer, so you can choose which one sits on top.
- Backspace deletes the selected sticker.
- Back to Sticker Composer takes you back to try another word.
- Clear Canvas wipes everything so you can start again.
The page says it works best on desktop, and that's true. Rotating with a mousewheel and nudging layers with the arrow keys is a lot easier with a keyboard and mouse than on a phone.
The preview is a planning tool. It helps you see whether a combo reads well and how the stickers overlap. It isn't the in-game weapon view, so the final placement still happens inside CS2.
Turning your combo into a real craft
Got a combo you like? Here's how to take it from the screen to your weapon.
1. Check sticker prices first
Some stickers cost a few cents. Others, especially old tournament or holo stickers, can cost a lot more. Before you fall in love with a combo, check what each sticker costs. The Stash All Stickers list shows prices and Steam listings, and Price Check helps with skins. If one sticker in your combo is expensive, generate again and see if another combo avoids it.
2. Pick the right weapon
Long words need space. Rifles like the AK-47 and M4 give you more room than a pistol. Think about where the stickers will sit when you're holding the gun in first person, because that's the view you'll see most.
3. Pick a skin that doesn't fight the stickers
Busy, colourful skins can make a sticker word hard to read. Clean or darker finishes usually make letters stand out. If you're still picking a skin, our Clash.gg review explains how you can get skins from free cases.

4. Buy the stickers
Buy from the Steam Community Market or a marketplace you trust. Double-check you've got the exact sticker, foil, holo or paper version you planned for, because they look different.
5. Apply them in CS2
In CS2, apply stickers to the weapon from your inventory. You can move, rotate and zoom while placing each one, so use your preview as a guide. Take your time on the first sticker, because everything else lines up against it.
Applying a sticker is permanent. Once it's on, you can scrape it, but you can't take it off and get it back. Make sure you're happy before you confirm.
Scraping: the secret to cleaner crafts
Sometimes a sticker has the letters you need plus some stuff you don't. That's where scraping comes in. Scraping a sticker wears it down and can remove parts of it, and some crafters scrape stickers to specific wear levels to leave only the part they want.
Clash.gg's blog has a post on Character Craft sticker scratch patterns, with examples like the Lefty (T) sticker at 0.90 wear and Taste Buddy (Holo) at 1.00 wear for heart shapes. It's a good example of how far people take it.
Be careful, though: scraping is permanent too. Fully scraping a sticker removes it. Our CS2 sticker scrape guide explains how scraping works and how to avoid ruining a pricey sticker.
Sticker Composer vs other tools
The Clash.gg composer isn't the only option. There are a few others worth knowing about:
- texttostickers.com is a separate web tool with a similar idea, turning text into sticker suggestions.
- Community generators. A user on the r/ohnePixel subreddit posted their own combo generator. Tools like this come and go.
- Doing it by hand. Scrolling the sticker list yourself works, but it's slow.
Our honest take: try the same word in two tools. Each one may come back with different combos, and comparing them is the fastest way to find a cheap one that looks good. The Clash.gg version has the advantage of the built-in preview canvas and the other Stash tools right next to it.
Tips for better sticker words
- Keep it short. Four to six letters is the sweet spot for most weapons.
- Use stickers that cover several letters. One sticker with a whole word part beats three single letters.
- Mind the five-sticker cap. Plan the word around five stickers max.
- Match the style. Mixing foil, paper and holo can look messy. Try to keep a similar style.
- Preview first, buy second. Use the Sticker Preview canvas before buying anything.
- Check prices on every sticker, not just the first one.
- Screenshot your layout so you can copy it when applying in game.
Is the Clash.gg Sticker Composer worth using?
Yes, bro. It's free, it's quick, and it saves a lot of scrolling. Type a word, hit Generate, play with the options, and preview the layout. Even if you end up buying different stickers, it gives you a starting point and shows you what's possible.
Just remember the two things that cost people money: check sticker prices before you commit, and remember that applying and scraping are permanent.
