CSGOEmpire Coinflip: The Lowest-Edge Game on Empire, Explained
Updated · By the MyCS2Guru Editorial Team

Coinflip is the purest game on CSGOEmpire, bro: two sides, one winner, and the smallest house cut on the whole site. Since May 2023, Empire only takes 0.5% from a winning flip. That makes it the cheapest way to gamble on Empire by a mile. This page covers how CSGOEmpire coinflip works, bot vs PvP flips, the limits, how the EOS blockchain fairness works and what the low edge means for XP, daily cases and races. The key numbers
| Detail | Value | Source |
|---|---|---|
| House edge | 0.5% | CSGOEmpire help centre |
| Previous edge | 3% (before 30 May 2023) | Coinflip update article |

How the 0.5% cut works
Empire's own example: flip 50 coins and win, and you get 99.5 coins back. Before the update you'd have got 97. So the 0.5% is taken from the winning payout. On average, for every 100 coins you flip, about 0.5 coins go to the house. Compare that with roulette (6.66%) or cases and battles (8.8%):
| Game | House edge | Average loss per 1,000 coins wagered |
|---|---|---|
| Coinflip | 0.5% | ~5 coins |
| Match betting | ~4% (varies) | ~40 coins |
| Roulette | 6.66% | ~67 coins |
| Cases & battles | 8.8% | ~88 coins |
That doesn't make coinflip safe: every flip is still 50/50 for your whole stake. It just means the house takes very little over time.
Bot flips vs PvP flips
| Vs bot | PvP | |
|---|---|---|
| Opponent | Empire's bot | Another player |
| Wait time | Instant | Until someone joins |
| Max bet | 200,000 coins | No limit |
| Edge | 0.5% | 0.5% |
If you create a flip and nobody joins, you can call the bot, or wait for a player. Either way the maths is the same.
Step-by-step: your first coinflip
- Sign up through our link with FREECASES4U and open your free case.
- Open Coinflip from the games menu.
- Create a flip: pick your side (T or CT) and stake (minimum 1 coin).
- Wait for a player, or call the bot.
- Watch the result once the future EOS block is mined.
- Verify the round if you like, using the seeds (see below).
- Stick to flat stakes; don't double after losses.
How coinflip fairness works (EOS blockchain)
Empire's help centre explains that no result is generated when you create a flip. Once a challenger (player or bot) joins, Empire picks an EOS blockchain block that hasn't been mined yet. When that block is mined a few seconds later, its ID becomes the public seed. Three values decide the flip:
| Variable | What it is |
|---|---|
| Private seed | Random value created with the round (its hash is shown up front) |
| Public seed | ID of a future EOS block |
| Round ID | Unique ID of the flip |
The result comes from a SHA-256 hash of those three values. Because the block didn't exist when the flip was joined, nobody (Empire included) could know the result in advance. Empire publishes a short script you can run to verify any past flip: it checks the private seed matches its hash, then recomputes heads (T) or tails (CT). Our what is provably fair guide explains the idea in general.
Coinflip and Empire's reward systems
The low edge has knock-on effects:
| System | Coinflip effect |
|---|---|
| XP | 10 XP per coin (vs roulette 100, cases 88) |
| Daily case pool | 25% of edge → 0.125 coins per 100 wagered |
| Leaderboard races | Excluded |
| Referrer commission | Lower, since it's tied to edge |
So coinflip is cheap to play but builds rewards slowly. That's the trade-off, and it's fair: you're paying the house far less. Daily case details: CSGOEmpire daily case. Levels: CSGOEmpire levels.
Variance: why 50/50 still bites
Losing streaks happen. In 100 flips, a run of 6+ losses in a row shows up more often than not. If you bet 10% of your balance each time, a normal bad run wipes most of it. Flat stakes of 1–2% keep you in the game.
| Losses in a row | Chance (any given start) |
|---|---|
| 3 | 12.5% |
| 5 | ~3.1% |
| 7 | ~0.8% |
| 10 | ~0.1% |
Across hundreds of flips, even the rare streaks become likely.
Coinflip myths
- "T has been winning, so CT is due." Each flip is independent.
- "Big flips are rigged against you." The EOS method makes outcomes unknowable in advance; verify it yourself.
- "Martingale works at 0.5% edge." Low edge doesn't stop streaks; doubling still busts you.
- "PvP is better odds than the bot." Same 0.5% either way.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| Nobody joins my flip | Call the bot or lower the stake |
| Can't bet less than 1 coin | 1 coin is the minimum |
| Bot won't accept my bet | Bot flips cap at 200,000 coins |
| Result looks wrong | Verify with the private seed, EOS block ID and round ID |
| Coinflip not moving my race rank | Coinflip is excluded from races |
Why Empire cut the edge to 0.5%
Empire described the May 2023 change as a test based on community feedback: a smaller cut on every winning flip, paired with lower XP (60 down to 10 per coin) and a higher minimum (0.5 up to 1 coin). It also said referrers earn less commission on coinflip as a result. The changes were labelled temporary at the time, so if Empire ever adjusts them again, the help centre is where it'll show first. We check it when we update this page.
Coinflip bankroll plan
- Budget: fixed amount for the session.
- Stake: 1–2% of budget per flip, flat.
- Side: pick one or alternate; it makes no difference.
- Stop-loss: down 30%.
- Stop-win: up 30%; withdraw or walk.
- Timer: 30 minutes.
With 0.5% edge, a flat-stake player loses very slowly on average. Variance is what ends sessions, and the plan protects you from it.

Verifying a flip yourself (plain steps)
- Open the finished coinflip round and note the private seed, its hash, the EOS block ID (public seed) and the round ID.
- Hash the private seed with SHA-256 and check it matches the hash shown before the round.
- Join the three values as private seed, public seed and round ID with dashes, and SHA-256 that string.
- Take the first 8 hex characters, convert to a number, take it modulo 2 and add 1.
- 1 = heads (T), 2 = tails (CT). Compare with the result shown.
That's exactly what Empire's published script does, so you can check any flip without trusting anyone.
