FanDuel CS2 Betting: Where It Works, Why It's Hard to Find and What to Do Instead

If you've opened FanDuel, tapped into esports and found nothing but eBasketball, you're not doing anything wrong. FanDuel does take Counter-Strike 2 bets at times, but only in some states, mostly around big tournaments, and it doesn't publish where. That makes it one of the trickier books to use for CS2.

Below is what we could confirm about FanDuel and CS2 as of October 31, 2026: which states can even allow it, what FanDuel's esports menu usually looks like, why CS2 lines come and go, and the honest options if your state doesn't get them. We didn't place test bets for this page. It's built from FanDuel's own state map, state esports rules and independent captures of FanDuel's esports page. This is general info, not legal advice.

Reminder: betting and skin gambling are for adults only. Only play where it's legal for you.

The short version

  • FanDuel Sportsbook runs in 24 states plus Washington DC and Puerto Rico, and in Ontario and Alberta in Canada.
  • Esports, CS2 included, only appears where that state's regulator allows esports and has approved the specific event.
  • FanDuel doesn't publish a list of the states where it offers esports. DraftKings does, which is why people find CS2 there more easily.
  • On a normal day, FanDuel's esports page is mostly simulated sports: eBasketball, eFootball and eSoccer.
  • CS2 match lines have been reported around major tournaments, not as a steady daily menu.
  • In states without the sportsbook, the FanDuel app offers FanDuel Predicts instead, which is not a way to bet on CS2.

Where FanDuel Sportsbook operates

According to FanDuel's own map, the sportsbook is live in these places:

RegionPlaces
US statesArizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wyoming
Also in the USWashington DC and Puerto Rico
CanadaOntario and Alberta

That's where the sportsbook is. It's not where esports is. For CS2, the next question is what each state lets a book offer.

Which of those states allow esports betting

Every state publishes rules or a catalog of events a licensed book can take bets on. That's what decides whether a CS2 match can even show up on FanDuel. Here's what's known as of October 2026:

StateEsports at licensed booksWhat it means for CS2 on FanDuel
ConnecticutPermitted (with a college-team exception)CS2 can appear for approved events
KentuckyIn the approved catalogCS2 can appear for approved events
North CarolinaState law treats esports as a sporting eventCS2 can appear for approved events
OhioPermittedCS2 can appear for approved events
VermontPermittedCS2 can appear for approved events
New JerseyApproved events only, no competitor under 18Some CS2 matches get knocked off the board
IndianaNot permittedNo CS2 on any book
PennsylvaniaNot permittedNo CS2 on any book
Other FanDuel statesVaries, check the appMay or may not appear

"Permitted" doesn't mean FanDuel actually prices CS2 there. It just means it's allowed to. Whether a line appears on a given day comes down to the event and FanDuel's own choice.

Why the catalog matters so much at FanDuel

FanDuel has had regulators fine it for taking bets on events outside a state's approved list. Massachusetts is the best-known example, where most of FanDuel's fines were for bets on events the state hadn't approved. A book that's been fined for that tends to be careful, and careful usually means fewer niche esports markets. That's a big part of why CS2 is so patchy on FanDuel.

What FanDuel's esports menu usually looks like

Independent captures of FanDuel's esports page in October 2026 showed three categories: eBasketball, eFootball and eSoccer. The eBasketball games came with spreads, moneylines, totals and live betting. Counter-Strike 2, League of Legends, Valorant and Dota 2 weren't on the page at that moment, though Counter-Strike lines have been reported around major events.

So in practice:

  • During a Major or a big ESL or BLAST event, check FanDuel's esports section in your state. That's when CS2 is most likely to show up.
  • On a normal weekday, expect nothing for CS2.
  • When it does appear, expect the basics: match winner, maybe a map handicap or total maps on bigger series. Don't expect deep round props.

How FanDuel compares with DraftKings for CS2

If you have both apps, DraftKings is usually the better bet for CS2 specifically. DraftKings publishes a list of the places it offers esports, including several FanDuel states like Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Kansas, Maryland, Missouri, New Jersey, Ohio, Tennessee and West Virginia, and it tends to list tier-one CS2 events more often. We cover that in detail in can you bet CS2 on DraftKings.

That doesn't mean FanDuel never wins. When both books have the same CS2 match, compare the prices. Esports margins vary a lot between books, and the better number on the day is what matters.

FanDuel Predicts is not CS2 betting

In the 26 states where FanDuel Sportsbook isn't live, the app shows FanDuel Predicts instead. That's an event-contract product run through CFTC-regulated exchanges, open from 18, with sports contracts in many of those states. It's not a sportsbook, and it's not a way to bet on a CS2 match. If you're in Texas, California or Florida, for example, you won't get CS2 betting through FanDuel in any form.

Age, location and account rules

  • Age: 21 in most FanDuel sportsbook states. Washington DC and Wyoming allow 18. In Canada, Ontario is 19+ and Alberta is 18+.
  • Location: you must be physically inside the state when you bet. FanDuel uses your device's location, not your address.
  • VPNs: don't. FanDuel's location checks look for VPNs and spoofers, and using one breaks the terms. Bets can be voided and accounts closed.
  • Limits: FanDuel can cut stake limits on accounts that win consistently, and thin markets like esports usually get low limits first.

What to do when CS2 isn't on FanDuel

  1. Check the other licensed books in your state. Esports menus differ a lot. If DraftKings or another licensed app carries CS2 in your state, use that.
  2. Wait for a big event. Majors and top ESL or BLAST stops are when CS2 is most likely to get approved and priced.
  3. Don't go offshore. Offshore books aren't licensed in your state, so you have nobody to complain to if a payout goes wrong. Cloudbet, which we use for CS2 match betting outside the US, doesn't take US players.
  4. Look at what you actually want. If the goal is CS2 action with skins rather than a cash bet on who wins, that's a different product.

CS2 skin games are a separate thing

Clash.gg is a CS2 skin site, not a sportsbook. It runs cases, case battles and other games using on-site balance, and you can claim free cases through our link without a code. Its terms exclude Idaho, Michigan, Montana, Nevada and Washington. It doesn't take match bets, so it doesn't replace FanDuel for picking winners, but it's where a lot of CS2 players in no-esports states end up for skin games.

Clash.gg works on a sweepstakes-style model, and a number of states are changing their rules on that model, so check your own state before you play.

A five-point check before you look for CS2 on FanDuel

  • Are you in a FanDuel Sportsbook state, not a Predicts state?
  • Does your state allow esports at licensed books? If you're in Indiana or Pennsylvania, stop here.
  • Is a big CS2 tournament happening right now?
  • Are you 21 (or the local minimum) and fully verified?
  • Is location on and the location check passing, with no VPN running?

If all five are yes and there's still no Counter-Strike tab, FanDuel simply isn't pricing CS2 in your state today.

Settlement rules worth reading first

If you do find a CS2 line on FanDuel, read the esports section of its house rules before betting. Check what happens when a match is delayed or moved, when a team plays a stand-in, when a map is forfeited and whether overtime counts toward round totals. These rules decide most disputed esports bets, and they differ between books.

Finding the esports section in the FanDuel app

FanDuel doesn't put esports on the home screen. Open the sportsbook, tap the full sports list (usually "A-Z" or "All Sports") and scroll to Esports. Inside, each title gets its own tab when there's something to bet on. If you see eBasketball and eSoccer but no Counter-Strike tab, there's no CS2 event priced in your state at that moment. Searching "Counter-Strike" or a team name like Vitality in the app's search bar is a quick second check. If nothing comes back during a Major weekend, CS2 likely isn't offered in your state at all.

FanDuel shows American odds by default. A team at -150 means you stake $150 to win $100, and +130 means a $100 stake wins $130. Our guide on how CS2 betting odds work shows how to turn those into a percentage so you can compare FanDuel's price with another book.

Responsible gambling

Esports betting can eat time quickly: matches run back to back and live markets reopen every round. Set a budget before the event and use FanDuel's deposit limits and time-outs if you need them. If betting has stopped being fun, call or text 1-800-GAMBLER in the US. In Ontario, ConnexOntario is free and open 24/7 at 1-866-531-2600.

The bottom line

FanDuel can take CS2 bets, but it's hit and miss. You need to be in a sportsbook state that allows esports, there needs to be an approved event, and FanDuel has to choose to price it, which mostly happens around big tournaments. If you bet CS2 regularly, check DraftKings or another licensed book in your state too, and keep your stakes to money you're fine losing.

FAQ

Can you bet on CS2 on FanDuel?

Sometimes. FanDuel has posted Counter-Strike match lines around major tournaments in some states, but CS2 isn't a permanent part of its esports menu. It only appears where the state allows esports, the event is approved and FanDuel chooses to price it.

Which states can you bet CS2 on FanDuel?

FanDuel doesn't publish an esports state list. State rules permit esports in places like Connecticut, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio and Vermont, and New Jersey allows approved events only. Indiana and Pennsylvania don't permit esports betting at all.

Why does FanDuel's esports tab only show eBasketball?

FanDuel's esports section is mostly simulated sports like eBasketball, eFootball and eSoccer. Titles like CS2 tend to show up only around big events, so on a normal day the tab may have no Counter-Strike at all.

Is FanDuel Predicts a way to bet on CS2?

No. FanDuel Predicts is an event-contract product offered in states without FanDuel Sportsbook. It isn't the sportsbook and it isn't a way to place a CS2 match bet.

How old do I need to be to bet esports on FanDuel?

21 in most sportsbook states, with a few 18+ exceptions such as Washington DC. In Canada, FanDuel is 19+ in Ontario and 18+ in Alberta.

Can I bet CS2 on FanDuel from another state with a VPN?

No. FanDuel checks your physical location, and using a VPN or location spoofer breaks its terms. It can void bets and close the account.

Is DraftKings better than FanDuel for CS2?

For CS2 specifically, DraftKings usually has more to offer because it publishes an esports state list and lists tier-one CS2 events more often. Check both in your state, since menus change.

Is Clash.gg a FanDuel alternative for CS2?

Not for match betting. Clash.gg is a CS2 skin site with cases and battles, not a sportsbook. It's an option for CS2 skin games, and its terms exclude Idaho, Michigan, Montana, Nevada and Washington.
