Can You Bet CS2 on DraftKings? Where It Works, What You Can Bet and Why It Sometimes Doesn't

Short answer: yes, you can bet on CS2 on DraftKings, but only in the places where DraftKings offers esports betting, only on events the local regulator has approved, and only if you're old enough and physically inside that state when you tap "place bet". Outside that list, the Counter-Strike tab simply won't be there.

This page walks through exactly where DraftKings takes CS2 bets, what markets you'll actually see, why lines appear for some matches and not others, and what your options are if your state isn't covered. Everything here comes from DraftKings' own support pages and state rules, checked on October 31, 2026. We didn't place test bets for this page, and this is general info, not legal advice.

Quick reminder: sports betting and skin gambling are for adults only. Only play where it's legal for you.

Where DraftKings lets you bet on CS2

DraftKings runs its sportsbook in a lot more states than it runs esports. Its support article on esports lists these jurisdictions:

DraftKings adds a line to that page saying availability is subject to change. So treat the table as a starting point and the app as the final word. If you open DraftKings in one of these places and go to the sports menu, esports should show up as its own section, with Counter-Strike inside it when there's an event on.

Big states that aren't on the list

A lot of people are surprised that some of DraftKings' biggest markets don't have esports at all:

  • Indiana and Pennsylvania don't allow esports betting at licensed sportsbooks, so there's no CS2 there on any app.
  • New York, Illinois, Michigan, Virginia, Massachusetts and others have the DraftKings sportsbook, but they're not on DraftKings' esports list as of October 2026.
  • Kentucky, North Carolina and Vermont allow esports under their own rules, but DraftKings doesn't list them for esports right now. Another licensed book in those states might carry CS2.
  • Maine approved esports in its event catalog in March 2026, but again, DraftKings doesn't list Maine for esports.

If you live in a state like California or Texas with no legal sportsbook at all, DraftKings Sportsbook isn't available there in any form.

What CS2 bets DraftKings actually offers

When CS2 is up on DraftKings, it's usually tied to tier-one events: ESL Pro League, IEM stops, BLAST events and the Majors. You won't find every online qualifier or small regional cup. The menu is lighter than a dedicated esports book, but the basics are there:

  • Match winner (moneyline): pick who wins the series. This is the main market and the one you'll see most often.
  • Map handicap: for example a team at -1.5 maps needs to win 2-0 in a best-of-three.
  • Total maps: over or under 2.5 maps in a best-of-three, which is really a bet on whether the series goes the distance.
  • Map winner: who takes map 1, map 2 and so on, when posted.
  • Round totals or round handicaps on single maps for some bigger matches.

DraftKings doesn't stream esports in its app, so you'll be watching on Twitch or YouTube while your bet sits in the DraftKings app. Parlays and same-game parlays depend on the market; if a CS2 leg won't combine, the bet slip will tell you.

How bets settle on a CS2 match

Each sportsbook has house rules for esports. The common ones to look for in DraftKings' rules before you bet:

  • What happens if a match is moved, delayed or played on a different date.
  • What happens if a team swaps a player or uses a stand-in.
  • Whether overtime rounds count toward round totals (usually yes for map and series markets).
  • What happens if a map is forfeited or a match is awarded by the organiser.

These rules are where most "why was my bet voided?" complaints come from, so it's worth five minutes before your first CS2 bet.

Why the CS2 tab is sometimes empty

Even inside a listed state, there are days with no CS2 lines. The usual reasons:

  1. No approved event on. Regulators approve competitions, not "Counter-Strike" as a whole. If the tournament running today isn't on the approved list in your state, the book can't take bets on it.
  2. DraftKings chose not to price it. Being approved doesn't force a book to offer a market. DraftKings focuses on the events with the most interest.
  3. New Jersey's extra rule. New Jersey only allows esports bets on approved events where no competitor is under 18. Pro CS2 rosters sometimes include 17-year-olds, which can knock a match off the board.
  4. Your location check failed. If the app can't confirm you're inside the state, you'll see an error or a "not available in your location" message. Wi-Fi off, location services on, and the DraftKings location helper usually fixes it.
  5. Account checks. If your identity verification isn't finished, you won't be able to bet on anything, esports included.

The DraftKings products that aren't CS2 betting

DraftKings' app has more than one product, and it's easy to mix them up:

  • DraftKings Sportsbook is the real sportsbook. CS2 match bets live here, in the jurisdictions above.
  • DraftKings Predictions is a separate event-contract product run through a CFTC-regulated exchange, mostly offered in states where DraftKings has no sportsbook. It's sports contracts, not CS2 match betting, and it's had legal challenges, including a lawsuit filed by the Seminole Tribe in October 2026.
  • DraftKings fantasy contests have included esports titles in the past, but a fantasy contest isn't a match bet. You're picking players for points, not betting on who wins.

So when you see "DraftKings is available in all 50 states" somewhere, that's counting all of these products together. CS2 betting itself is the short list in the table.

Age, location and account rules

The rules that apply to every CS2 bet on DraftKings:

  • Be old enough. 21 in the US states on the esports list. 19 in Ontario, 18 in Alberta.
  • Be physically inside the jurisdiction. Your home address doesn't matter. If you live in Ohio but you're on holiday in Pennsylvania, the Ohio app won't take your bet, and the Pennsylvania app has no esports.
  • Don't use a VPN. DraftKings checks location with GPS and other signals. A VPN or location spoofer breaks the terms and can get your account closed with the balance held.
  • Expect limits if you win a lot. Like most US books, DraftKings can lower your maximum stake if you're a consistent winner, and niche markets like esports often get tight limits faster.

If your state isn't on the list

You've got a few honest options:

  • Check other licensed books in your state. Esports menus differ by book. In a state like North Carolina or Kentucky, another licensed sportsbook might carry CS2 even though DraftKings doesn't.
  • Wait for a bigger event. Majors and big ESL events are the most likely to get approved and priced.
  • Bet when you're in a listed state. If you travel to Ohio or New Jersey, for example, you can use that state's DraftKings app under its rules, as long as you're actually there.
  • Skip offshore books. Offshore sportsbooks aren't licensed in your state, which means no regulator to complain to if something goes wrong. Cloudbet, the crypto book we use for CS2 betting outside the US, doesn't accept US players at all.

A skin site is a different thing

If what you really want is CS2 action with skins rather than a cash match bet, a skin site is a separate product. Clash.gg runs CS2 cases, case battles and other games using on-site balance, and its terms exclude Idaho, Michigan, Montana, Nevada and Washington. It isn't a sportsbook and it doesn't take match bets, so don't treat it as a DraftKings replacement for picking winners. It's just the option many CS2 players in non-esports states use for skin games.

Clash.gg runs as a sweepstakes-style site. Laws on that model are changing in several states, so check your own state's rules before you play.

A quick checklist before your first CS2 bet on DraftKings

  • You're in one of the listed jurisdictions right now, not just living there.
  • You're 21 or older (19 in Ontario, 18 in Alberta).
  • Your account is fully verified.
  • Location services are on and the DraftKings location check passes.
  • The CS2 event shows in the esports tab. If it doesn't, it's not on offer in your state today.
  • You've read DraftKings' esports settlement rules for stand-ins, delays and forfeits.
  • You've set a deposit limit you're fine losing. DraftKings has limit and time-out tools in the account settings.

How CS2 odds on DraftKings compare

DraftKings prices CS2 like a mainstream sportsbook: the big matches carry a fair margin, while smaller markets and map props tend to carry more. If you bet CS2 regularly, it's worth comparing the same match across two or three licensed books in your state. A price of +120 versus +105 on the same team doesn't sound like much, but over a season it's the difference between losing a bit and losing a lot. Our guide on how CS2 betting odds work explains how to turn American odds into an implied chance so you can compare properly.

Also keep in mind that books lean hard on the favourites in esports. Big names like Vitality, Spirit or MOUZ draw a lot of public money, so the prices on them can be a bit short. That's normal, and it's one more reason to shop around instead of taking the first number you see.

Responsible gambling

Esports betting moves fast. A best-of-three can be over in under two hours, live markets reopen every round, and there's another match straight after. Set a budget before the tournament, not during it, and use DraftKings' deposit limits and time-outs if you need them. If betting has stopped being fun, call or text 1-800-GAMBLER in the US. In Ontario, ConnexOntario is free and open 24/7 at 1-866-531-2600.

The bottom line

Yes, DraftKings takes CS2 bets, but it's a short list: 11 states plus Puerto Rico in the US, and Ontario and Alberta in Canada. You have to be old enough, physically inside one of those places and betting on an event the regulator has approved. If your state isn't covered, check other licensed books, wait for a bigger event or stick to CS2 skin games on a site that operates where you live. Whatever you pick, keep it to money you're fine losing.

FAQ

Does DraftKings have CS2 betting?

Yes. DraftKings lists Counter-Strike 2 under its esports section, mostly around big tournaments like ESL Pro League events and Majors. You only see it where DraftKings offers esports betting and where the event has been approved by the local regulator.

Which states can you bet on CS2 with DraftKings?

DraftKings' own support page lists esports betting in Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Kansas, Maryland, Missouri, New Jersey, Ohio, Puerto Rico, Tennessee and West Virginia, plus Alberta and Ontario in Canada. DraftKings says availability can change, so check the app in your state.

Why can't I find CS2 on my DraftKings app?

Either your state isn't on DraftKings' esports list, the match you want isn't an approved event, or there's simply no CS2 event on that day. DraftKings tends to post CS2 lines around tier-one tournaments, not every small online cup.

How old do you have to be to bet CS2 on DraftKings?

21 in most states. A few places allow 18-year-olds at the sportsbook, but the esports list above is mostly 21+ states. In Canada, Ontario is 19+ and Alberta is 18+.

Can I use a VPN to bet CS2 on DraftKings?

No. DraftKings checks your real location, and using a VPN or location spoofer breaks its terms. It can void bets, close the account and hold the balance.

Are DraftKings Predictions or DFS the same as CS2 betting?

No. DraftKings Predictions is a separate event-contract product and fantasy contests are fantasy games, not sportsbook bets. Neither one is a way to place a normal CS2 match bet.

Can I deposit CS2 skins on DraftKings?

No. DraftKings takes cash through its approved payment methods only. If you want to play with skins, you need a skin site, which works very differently from a sportsbook.

Is Clash.gg a DraftKings alternative?

Not for match betting. Clash.gg is a CS2 skin site with cases, battles and other games, not a sportsbook. It's an option if you want CS2 skin games in a state where DraftKings has no esports, and its terms exclude Idaho, Michigan, Montana, Nevada and Washington.
