CS2 Practice Config: Every Command You Need

Updated October 10, 2026 · MyCS2Guru crew

A good practice config saves you time every session. Paste this into your console in a private match.

The full config

sv_cheats 1; mp_limitteams 0; mp_autoteambalance 0; mp_roundtime_defuse 60; mp_freezetime 0; mp_buy_anywhere 1; mp_buytime 9999; mp_maxmoney 60000; mp_startmoney 60000; sv_infinite_ammo 1; ammo_grenade_limit_total 5; sv_grenade_trajectory_prac_pipreview 1; sv_showimpacts 1; bot_kick; mp_warmup_end; mp_restartgame 1

What each part does

CommandPurpose
sv_cheats 1Enables practice commands
sv_infinite_ammo 1Unlimited ammo and nades
ammo_grenade_limit_total 5Carry more grenades
sv_grenade_trajectory_prac_pipreview 1See where nades land
sv_showimpacts 1See where bullets hit
mp_buy_anywhere 1Buy anywhere
bot_kickRemove bots

Save it as a file

Create a file called practice.cfg in your CS2 config folder and paste the commands in. Then type exec practice in the console.

How to set up an autoexec with your practice config

Instead of pasting commands every time, save them:

  1. Open your CS2 cfg folder.
  2. Create a text file called practice.cfg.
  3. Paste the full config into it and save.
  4. In a private match, open the console and type exec practice.

You can also make separate configs, like aim.cfg for aim training and nades.cfg for lineups.

Extra commands worth adding

CommandWhat it does
sv_rethrow_last_grenadeThrows your last grenade again from the same spot
noclipFly around the map
godInvincibility
give weapon_ak47Gives you an AK instantly
sv_showimpacts_time 10Keeps bullet impacts visible longer
cl_showpos 1Shows your position and velocity
mp_drop_knife_enable 1Drop your knife

sv_rethrow_last_grenade is especially useful: throw a smoke, then rethrow it repeatedly to see where it lands while you watch from the target area.

Practice session templates

Lineup session (15 minutes)

  1. Load your main map.
  2. exec practice.
  3. Practice 3 smokes, 2 flashes and 1 molotov.

  3. Practice placement and one-taps.

Quick recap

A practice config sets up infinite ammo, long rounds, grenade previews and bots in one command. Save it as a .cfg file and run it with exec before every practice session.

Pro tip

Name your config files clearly so you can remember them: aim, nades, spray.

Why it matters

A practice config turns five minutes of setup into one command. Over weeks of practice, that's hours saved for actual improvement.

Separate configs for every kind of practice

Instead of one giant config, make a few small ones:

aim.cfg

sv_cheats 1; mp_roundtime 60; mp_freezetime 0; sv_infinite_ammo 1; bot_kick; bot_add_t; bot_add_t; bot_add_t; bot_stop 1; bot_dont_shoot 1; mp_respawn_on_death_t 1; mp_restartgame 1

nades.cfg

sv_cheats 1; mp_roundtime_defuse 60; mp_freezetime 0; sv_infinite_ammo 1; ammo_grenade_limit_total 5; sv_grenade_trajectory_prac_pipreview 1; mp_buy_anywhere 1; bot_kick; mp_restartgame 1

spray.cfg

sv_cheats 1; sv_infinite_ammo 1; sv_showimpacts 1; sv_showimpacts_time 10; bot_kick; mp_restartgame 1

Run whichever one you need with exec aim, exec nades or exec spray.

Practicing with friends

Invite friends to your private match lobby and run your config. You can practice executes together, test crossfires and drill retakes. This is how organized teams practice, and it works just as well for a group of friends who want to climb.

Common config problems

ProblemFix
exec says file not foundCheck the file name and location
Commands don't applyMake sure sv_cheats 1 is first
Bots still shootingAdd bot_dont_shoot 1 after adding bots
Round ends too quicklyAdd mp_roundtime and mp_roundtime_defuse

How often should you use your config?

Ideally every time you practice. Make it the first thing you do: open a private match, exec your config, and get to work. Pro players and teams use practice configs every day, and it's one of the simplest ways to make your practice time more efficient.

Pair it with a goal

A config gives you tools, but you still need a goal. Before each session, decide on one thing: three new smokes, 200 headshots, or a clean AK spray. Focused practice beats random practice every time.

Practice config FAQ

  • Can I run it on community servers? Only if you have admin rights or the server allows cheats.
  • Does it change my normal settings? No, these commands only affect the private match.
  • Should I put it in my autoexec? No, keep it separate so it only runs in practice.
  • What if a command stops working? Valve occasionally renames commands. Remove it and check our page for updates.

FAQ
