How to Hold B Site on Inferno as CT

Updated October 10, 2026 · MyCS2Guru crew

B site on Inferno is all about Banana. If the CTs control Banana, the Ts struggle to execute. If the Ts take Banana easily, B becomes very hard to hold. Here's how to hold it.

The setup

RotatorCT / ArchHelp B or A

Early round: Banana control

  1. Throw a molotov deep Banana at the start of the round to stop the T rush.
  2. Follow with an HE to damage players waiting behind it.
  3. Use a flash to re-peek Banana and look for a kill.
  4. Don't overcommit. Once you've done damage, fall back.

Mid round: holding the site

When the Ts start their execute (smoke CT, smoke Coffins, mollies on site), the anchor should:

  • Play a safe position that's hard to reach with utility.
  • Call how many are coming.
  • Fall back to CT if the execute is overwhelming.

Fallback timing

Holding alone against three or four Ts usually ends badly. If the Ts commit with full utility:

  • Fall back toward CT.
  • Call "B is hit, rotate."
  • Wait for your rotators to retake together.

Retaking B

  1. Gather with your rotators at CT.
  2. Throw flashes onto site.
  3. Use smokes to block post-plant angles.
  4. Retake together, not one by one.

Common mistakes

  1. Wasting all utility early. Save some for the execute.
  2. Dying on Banana for nothing. Fall back after damage.
  3. No call for help. Rotators need early info.
  4. Retaking one by one.

Practice drill

Practice the deep Banana molotov and HE lineups until you can throw them in the first five seconds of the round. Then practice re-peeking with a flash. See our Inferno callouts and molotov guide.

Positions on B site explained

PositionStrengthWeakness
CoffinsHard to flash, sees Banana exitEasily mollied
New BoxClose, surprising angleGets cleared on executes
DarkOff-angle, watches siteCan be isolated
FountainCovers site and CTExposed to Banana
Car (early)Banana info and fightsRisky against rushes

Rotate positions between rounds. If the Ts clear Coffins every time, play Dark or Fountain next round.

Reading the Ts on Banana

Banana tells you a lot. Listen for footsteps and utility:

  • Lots of utility early: probably an execute coming.
  • Quiet Banana: could be a fake or an A hit. Call it.
  • One player making noise: classic fake. Don't over-rotate.

Tell your team what you hear. "Quiet Banana, maybe A" is useful info.

Working with the A players

B and A on Inferno are far apart. When B is hit, the A players rotate through CT, which takes time. Delay as long as you can with utility. Every second you stall helps the retake.

Economy for the B player

The B player uses a lot of utility: molotov, HE, flash and maybe a smoke. That's around $1,200 in nades. Make sure you have budget for it on full buys, and if you're short, prioritize the molotov.

Advanced tips

  1. Re-take Banana mid-round if the Ts back off. Surprise aggression catches lurkers.
  2. Save a smoke for the CT exit so your retakers can come in safely.
  3. Play for time on 1v3s. Hide, delay, and let your teammates retake.

FAQ

How many players should hold B on Inferno?

Usually two, with one more able to rotate from mid or CT quickly. Many teams play one player on Banana early and one on site.

What utility should CTs use on Banana?

A molotov and HE grenade early to stop the T push, plus a flash to re-peek. Save a smoke or molotov to delay an execute later in the round.
