Every skin site and trader asks for it, bro: your Steam trade URL. Here's exactly where to find it on desktop, web and mobile, plus how to keep it safe.

What is a trade URL?

A trade URL (trade link) is a personal Steam link that lets others send you trade offers without being on your friends list. It looks like https://steamcommunity.com/tradeoffer/new/?partner=XXXXXXX&token=XXXXXXXX. The partner number identifies your account; the token authorises offers.

On the Steam desktop client

  1. Open Steam and hover over your profile name at the top.
  2. Click Inventory.
  3. Click Trade Offers (top right).
  4. Click Who can send me Trade Offers?
  5. Scroll to Third-Party Sites and copy the Trade URL.

In a web browser

  1. Log in at the official Steam Community website.
  2. Go to your Inventory > Trade Offers > Who can send me Trade Offers?
  3. Copy the URL under Third-Party Sites.

Always type the Steam address yourself or use a bookmark. Fake Steam login pages are a common scam.

In the Steam mobile app

  1. Open the app and tap your profile/menu.
  2. Go to Inventory, then Trade Offers.
  3. Find Who can send me Trade Offers? and copy the Trade URL.

App layouts change occasionally, so if you can't find it, use the web method in your phone's browser.

Make sure your inventory is public

Many sites can't send offers or read your items if your inventory is private. Go to Edit Profile > Privacy Settings and set Inventory to Public.

When to generate a new URL

Click Create New URL on the same page if:

  • You're getting spam or scam trade offers.
  • You shared your link somewhere public and want to reset it.
  • A site says your link is invalid.

The old link stops working. Update the new one on any sites you use, like Clash.gg or CSGOEmpire. See Clash.gg deposit guide for where to paste it there.

Is sharing it safe?

Your trade URL only lets people send you offers. They can't take items without you accepting. The danger is accepting a bad offer. So:

  • Check every offer carefully before confirming in the mobile app.
  • Watch for fake offers that look like they're from a site you use (classic API key scam).
  • Never share your API key. If you ever entered it on a shady site, revoke it immediately.
  • Use Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator so every trade needs phone confirmation.

Trade URL not working? Fixes

  • Inventory private: set it to public.
  • Old token: copy the current URL again.
  • Trade restrictions: new Steam Guard, password changes or recent issues can block trading for a time.
  • Typos: copy and paste the full link, including the token.

Using your trade URL on skin sites

Sites like Clash.gg and CSGOEmpire use your trade URL to send skins you withdraw. Add it in your profile settings. If you're 18+ and eligible, claim free cases with FREECASES4U before depositing. CSGOEmpire excludes the US, UK, Australia and some other countries.
