CS2 Charms Guide: Everything About Weapon Charms
Updated · MyCS2Guru crew

Little keychain dudes swinging off your AK, bro. Charms are CS2's newest cosmetic, and some sell for real money. Here's everything about CS2 charms: how they work, how to attach and remove them, patterns and value.
What are charms?
Charms are small 3D trinkets that hang from your weapon and swing as you move and inspect. Valve added them with The Armory update on 2 October 2024. They're purely cosmetic: no gameplay effect at all.

How to attach a charm
- Open your inventory and select the charm.
- Choose the weapon.
- Drag the charm to the spot you want and preview it.
- Confirm.
A weapon can only hold one charm at a time.
How to remove a charm
You need a Charm Detachment. Using one removes the charm, which returns to your inventory intact and can be reused. That's the big difference from stickers, which are destroyed when fully scraped. Charms redeemed from the Armory have come with free detachments; charms bought on the market don't include them, so budget for detachments if you like swapping.
Where to get charms
- The Armory: spend Armory credits on charm collections. See is the CS2 Armory Pass worth it?.
- Steam Community Market: buy any tradable charm.
- Trades with other players.
New charm collections arrive with updates.
Charm patterns
Charms have a pattern value that can affect colouring or details, similar in spirit to skin pattern seeds. It's fixed and travels with the charm. Some pattern ranges on certain charms are sought after and trade at premiums. Placement, on the other hand, is your choice and resets if you detach and reattach. For skin patterns, see CS2 pattern index.
What are charms worth?
Prices range from cents to large sums. Rarer charms from limited collections and highly popular designs (like mini weapon models) command the most. Prices often drop after a new collection floods the market, then settle. Check live market prices before buying or selling.
Pairing tips
- Match colours with your skin, like stickers.
- Keep it readable: a huge, busy charm can distract on a busy skin.
- Consider swing: charms move as you strafe; some players find big ones distracting.
- Try placement options; lower positions may sit out of view in first person.
Charms vs stickers
| Charms | Stickers | |
|---|---|---|
| Per weapon | 1 | Up to 5 |
| Removable intact | Yes (with detachment) | No (scraping destroys) |
| Placement | Free | Free (CS2) |
| Patterns | Yes | No (wear only) |
| Reusable | Yes | No |
Buying safely
Buy on the Steam Market or reputable marketplaces, and avoid trades outside official trade windows. See CS2 trading scams. If you sell, remember the Steam market fee.
