Clash.gg vs Rain.gg: Which CS2 Case Site Is Better?
Updated · By the MyCS2Guru Editorial Team

Bro, Clash.gg and Rain.gg look a lot alike at first glance: CS2 cases, battles, an upgrader, a double game and a "Rain" feature that drops free value. Dig into the terms though and the differences show up, especially in how Rain is shared, battle sizes and which US states can play. We read both sites' official terms so you don't have to.
Quick verdict
- Clash.gg wins for variety and clarity: more game modes, bigger battle lobbies under its rules, detailed sweepstakes rules, and free cases through our link with no code.
- Rain.gg is a reasonable alternative with a simple equal-share Rain and a free daily case for verified users, but its terms give less detail on redemption timing and limits.

Who runs them
Clash.gg lists Rust Clash Entertainment Ltd at Thermistokli Dervi 48 in Nicosia, Cyprus, and its terms are governed by Cyprus law.
Rain.gg's terms (last modified December 13, 2024) say it's operated by Make It Holdings Limited, registered in Belize, and that payments may be handled by Make It Entertainment Limited in Dublin, Ireland. Disputes fall under Irish law. Neither site publishes a mainstream gambling licence; both operate with sweepstakes-style "no cash value" coin terms.
Case battles
Clash.gg's rules describe battles where you and one or more other participants or bots open identical cases, with the winnings going to the winner(s). That allows bigger lobbies.
Rain.gg's terms describe two to four players or teams opening cases at the same time, with the player who unboxes the most valuable result winning all items opened in the battle.
If you like big chaotic lobbies, Clash.gg has more room. If you prefer small battles, both work. See Clash.gg case battles.
"Rain" on each site: same name, different maths
This is the most interesting difference.
Rain.gg's Rain: its terms say every play on the site contributes to the Rain pool. Each Rain session lasts up to 30 minutes, and users who meet the on-site requirements claim an equal portion of the pot. Equal shares are great for small players: you get the same as a big spender.
Clash.gg's Free Play (Rain): the rules say a pot of 2,500 Coins and 25 Gems, plus a percentage of Coin purchases, is split every 30 minutes. Each participant's share is proportional to the Gems they staked during the period, and you need Level 10+ or completed KYC. So active players get more.
Which is better depends on you. Casual players may like Rain.gg's equal split; regulars may get more from Clash.gg's proportional pot. Both are genuinely free, and both are worth claiming if you're active on the site anyway. More in our Clash.gg Rain guide.
Other game modes
Clash.gg has the wider menu under its rules: cases, battles, upgrades (you choose odds and price), tiles, plinko, mines, jackpot (odds proportional to stake), roll and double (CT, T or Green).
Rain.gg's terms list cases, battles, an upgrader (you choose the win chance, which sets the cost, and can take the item's value or have it sent to Steam) and Double, where you can win 2x or 14x depending on the colour.
Redemptions and KYC
Both sites say coins have no monetary value in their terms and that you redeem prizes, not deposits.
Clash.gg spells out the numbers: balance played through, minimum 20, one redemption per five days, some taking up to 30 days, and extra checks for prizes of 10,000+. KYC is needed for crypto redemptions from fiat deposits. See Clash.gg withdrawal time.
Rain.gg's terms say all Coins must be completely wagered before any redemption, redemptions go only to the account holder, and KYC is required for crypto redemptions that stem from fiat deposits. Its terms don't list a fixed processing time or frequency limit, so check the site before you rely on a quick cash-out.
US access
Both are open to much of the US, with exceptions:
- Clash.gg excludes Idaho, Michigan, Nevada and Washington in its rules, with Montana also listed in its terms. New York and Florida have a $5,000 cap per game.
- Rain.gg says its services aren't available in Nevada and Washington.
Both require users to be 18+ (or the age of majority). Read our Clash.gg US legality guide for state details.
Account rules in common
- One account per person on both.
- Inactive accounts can be closed after 180 days on both.
- No bots or scripts. Both treat automated play and reward farming as grounds for bans.
Getting started on each site
On Clash.gg:
- Open Clash.gg through our link and create your account.
- Join the Discord and connect it to unlock the free cases.
- Try games with Gold Coins first; they have no cash value, and the faucet gives 1,000 more whenever you run out.
- Reach Level 10 or complete KYC to join Free Play every 30 minutes.
- Turn on the Steam Mobile Authenticator early, since trades need it active for 15+ days.
On Rain.gg:
- Create an account and verify it, since the free daily case and free credits are for verified users.
- Claim your free daily case and join Rain sessions when you meet the on-site requirements.
- Remember that all Coins must be wagered before any redemption, so plan around that.
Fairness on both sites
Both advertise provably fair systems. Rain.gg's terms say outcomes are generated by a provably fair system and that interface glitches don't entitle you to items. Clash.gg's rules say each game shows the odds and potential payout before you confirm, and that only games played with Gems can lead to redeemable prizes. Provably fair checks prove a result wasn't changed after the fact, but they don't tell you the house edge, so read the odds shown on each game too. Our what is provably fair guide explains how to verify a result.
Which should you pick?
| You want... | Pick |

Rain.gg is a decent site with a friendly equal-share Rain, but Clash.gg gives you more modes, bigger battles and much more detailed rules about how and when you get paid. For most players, we pick Clash.gg. Compare more options in Clash.gg alternatives or read our full Clash.gg review.
